Hydraulic Modelling Reviews & Advice

  • Assisted the City of Melbourne in a Planning Scheme Amendment Project in which we provided reviews of the five hydraulic models developed for the amendment and liaised with consultants and Melbourne Water.
  • Provide mentoring to other engineering consultants, guiding them through scoping, undertaking and checking hydraulic and related models and work.
  • Multiple secondments to Melbourne Water, reviewing flood issues and related technical work, including expert reviews and advice on several projects and locations.

Flood Modelling & Mapping Technical Specifications Development

  • Assisted Melbourne Water in reviewing and contributing to their Flood Modelling Technical Specifications.
  • Authored the City of Melbourne’s “Flood Modelling Guidelines for Melbourne”

Flood Modelling & Mitigation

  • Many developer services projects in greenfield and infill development areas (flood retardation, conveyance, water quality management wetlands, sediment ponds, GPTs, proprietary products). These projects often involve liaising with authorities to obtain relevant approvals.

Guest lectures and special engagements

  • City of Melbourne, City of Port Phillip and Melbourne Water Design Sprint guest flood experts - creating a design guideline for development in the flood-affected areas of Fishermans Bend and the Arden and Macaulay precincts, leading to the development of the “Good Design Guide for Flood Affected Areas” document.
  • University of Melbourne guest lecturers and panellists for Master of Urban Planning students, discussing development in the Arden Precinct.
  • Victorian Government presentation on Water Sensitive City design in Australia - Kunshan, China 2017.
